How do I install this tape properly?
Clean and dry the surface completely. Cut the tape to the desired length, round off all four corners, and peel off the release film.
To secure the bond:
– You can press directly on the grit surface with a hand rubber roller, or
– Place the removed release film back over the grit, then use a flat scraper to press firmly in one direction.
This removes air bubbles and ensures strong adhesion to the surface.
Does the glow-in-the-dark strip work without light?
No. The glow-in-the-dark strip needs to absorb light (sunlight or artificial light) before it can glow in darkness. The brighter and longer the light exposure, the better the glow performance.
How long does the glow last after charging?
After being fully exposed to light, the glow strip can emit visible light in the dark for several hours. Glow intensity gradually fades over time.
Is the surface rough? Can it be used in barefoot areas?
Yes. The surface is coated with Grit 60 aluminum oxide, offering aggressive anti-slip performance. It is not recommended for barefoot areas due to its coarse texture.
Can this tape be used outdoors?
Yes. It is waterproof, UV-resistant, and built to withstand rain, sun, and outdoor foot traffic. Ideal for stairs, ramps, decks, porches, and walkways.
What surfaces does the tape stick to best?
Smooth, hard, and dry surfaces such as wood, tile, concrete, metal, and sealed stone. Avoid dusty, oily, wet, or uneven surfaces for best results.
Can I trim the tape and shape the corners?
Yes. You can cut the tape into shorter strips as needed, and we recommend rounding all four corners to prevent edge lifting.
What is the grit level and what does it mean?
This tape uses Grit 60 aluminum oxide, which means a coarse, heavy-duty texture ideal for areas requiring high traction and durability.
Will the tape leave residue or damage the surface when removed?
It can usually be removed cleanly from most hard surfaces. If needed, use a hair dryer to slightly heat the tape, softening the adhesive for easier removal.
How do I apply the tape to rough, porous or low-energy surfaces such as unfinished wood, concrete, stone, or certain plastics?
We recommend to use 3M 94 Primer.
