Watch Before Installation

Why watch before you install?

  • Ensure proper installation for maximum safety
  • Get the best performance and long-lasting results
  • Avoid common mistakes and save time

Install in 4 Simple Steps

1

Clean & Prep

Wipe with isopropyl alcohol. Surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust or grease.

2

Spot Test

Test on an inconspicuous area first to confirm surface compatibility.

3

Measure & Cut

Cut to length with sharp scissors. Round the corners to prevent edge lifting.

4

Apply & Bond

Peel the release film and apply. Place the film over the grit, then press firmly with a scraper. Allow 24h to cure.

Important Precautions

  • Temp Control: Apply only when surface is at least 10°C (50°F). Pre-warm if cold.
  • Surfaces: Avoid raw wood, porous concrete, or submerged areas. Prime/seal first.
  • Removal: Heat with a hair dryer, then peel slowly to minimize adhesive residue.

Why It Works

Max Grip

Commercial-grade 60-grit aluminum oxide delivers reliable, long-lasting traction in residential, commercial, and light industrial settings.

High-Visibility Yellow

Solid safety yellow surface — clean, bright, and instantly visible in daylight. Ideal for everyday visibility marking without the industrial caution feel of hazard stripes.

UV-Stable Color

UV-stable yellow pigments resist fading from sunlight, keeping the high-visibility marking effective in outdoor environments.

4-Mil PET Backing

100-micron reinforced PET backing engineered for long service life and edge stability — the same proven base across the S610 series.

Care & Maintenance
  • Clean regularly with mild soap and water to keep the yellow surface bright.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals and solvents that may degrade the UV-stable yellow pigments.
  • Inspect periodically — replace if grit visibly thins or yellow color noticeably fades.
  • Replace promptly if the yellow color noticeably dulls — high-visibility marking is the primary safety function. Faded yellow loses its safety value even if the grit is still functional.
Safe Removal
  • Warm the tape with a heat gun or hair dryer.
  • Peel back slowly at a low angle.
  • Remove any residue with adhesive remover.
  • Test on a small area first.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What surfaces does it work on?

Concrete, metal, tile, sealed wood, glass, and fiber cement work best. See the Surface Guide above for details.

2.Can it be used outdoors?

Yes. The reinforced PET backing and UV-stable yellow pigments are built for outdoor use, including walkway edges, parking lot crossings, and exposed sports facilities. For severe outdoor conditions (marine, freeze-thaw), see our S640 All-Weather model.

3.How long does the yellow color stay vivid?

S630 uses UV-stable pigments designed to resist fading. In typical outdoor use, the yellow color stays vivid for 2-3 years before noticeable dulling. Inspect annually and replace before the color loses its high-visibility effectiveness.

4.How is S630 different from the S680 hazard tape?

S630 is a solid single-color safety yellow — clean, professional, and suitable for everyday visibility marking (walkways, schools, sports facilities). S680 features the diagonal yellow-and-black hazard pattern, which conveys industrial caution and is best for factory floors, loading docks, and warning zones. Choose S630 for general high-visibility marking; choose S680 for industrial hazard zones.

5.How do I remove the tape?

Warm with a hair dryer, peel slowly at a low angle, then clean any residue with adhesive remover.

6.How is S630 different from standard yellow anti-slip tape?

S630 uses S&X's premium 4-mil (100-micron) reinforced PET backing and 60-grit aluminum oxide — significantly more durable than typical PVC-based yellow tapes. UV-stable pigments resist outdoor fading. The clean single-color appearance is suitable for environments where visibility matters but industrial hazard stripes would be too aggressive.
