Watch Before Installation

Why watch before you install?

  • Ensure proper installation for maximum safety
  • Get the best performance and long-lasting results
  • Avoid common mistakes and save time

Install in 4 Simple Steps

1

Clean & Prep

Wipe with isopropyl alcohol. Surface must be clean, dry, and free of dust or grease.

2

Spot Test

Test on an inconspicuous area first to confirm surface compatibility.

3

Measure & Cut

Cut to length with sharp scissors. Round the corners to prevent edge lifting.

4

Apply & Bond

Peel the release film and apply. Place the film over the grit, then press firmly with a scraper. Allow 24h to cure.

Important Precautions

  • Temp Control: Apply only when surface is at least 10°C (50°F). Avoid installation in rain or freezing conditions.
  • Surfaces: Avoid raw wood, porous concrete, or actively wet surfaces. Prime/seal first for marine environments.
  • Removal: Heat with a hair dryer, then peel slowly to minimize adhesive residue. Marine-grade adhesive removes cleaner when warm.

Why It Works

Max Grip

Commercial-grade 60-grit aluminum oxide delivers reliable traction in wet, icy, and contaminated outdoor conditions.

All-Weather Built

UV-stable formulation, freeze-thaw rated -40°F to 200°F, and resistant to salt air for severe outdoor environments.

Marine-Grade Adhesive

Engineered to withstand chlorine, salt spray, and continuous moisture on boat decks, harbor piers, and pool surrounds.

4-Mil PET Backing

100-micron reinforced PET stays flat and stable through years of UV exposure and weather cycling.

Care & Maintenance
  • Rinse with fresh water periodically — especially in marine and pool environments to remove salt or chlorine buildup.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals and solvents that may degrade the UV-stable surface.
  • Inspect annually — replace before grit visibly thins or color noticeably fades.
  • In severe outdoor conditions (direct UV, freeze-thaw, salt air), service life is typically 2-3 years. Replace promptly when wear becomes visible to maintain safety.
Safe Removal
  • Warm the tape with a heat gun or hair dryer.
  • Peel back slowly at a low angle.
  • Remove any residue with adhesive remover.
  • Test on a small area first.

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What surfaces does it work on?

Concrete, metal, fiberglass, sealed wood, boat decks, and pool decks work best. See the Surface Guide above for details.

2.Can it really handle severe outdoor conditions?

Yes — that is exactly what S640 is built for. The reinforced PET backing and marine-grade adhesive withstand UV exposure, freeze-thaw cycles (-40°F to 200°F), salt air, chlorine, and continuous moisture. Boat decks, marinas, pool surrounds, and outdoor industrial walkways are core applications.

3.How long will it last outdoors?

In severe outdoor environments (direct UV, freeze-thaw, salt air), S640 typically lasts 2-3 years before noticeable wear. Sheltered or moderate outdoor environments extend service life further. Inspect annually and replace when grit visibly thins or color noticeably fades.

4.Does it work on wet boat decks or pool surrounds?

Yes, this is exactly what S640 is engineered for. The marine-grade adhesive bonds aggressively for these environments — though optimal installation still requires a fully dry surface. Once cured, the tape resists water immersion, chlorine, and salt spray.

5.How do I remove the tape?

Warm with a hair dryer, peel slowly at a low angle, then clean any residue with adhesive remover. The marine-grade adhesive removes cleaner when warm.

6.How is S640 different from standard outdoor anti-slip tape?

S640 is engineered specifically for severe outdoor conditions — UV-stable formulation, freeze-thaw rated -40°F to 200°F, and salt air / chlorine resistant. The industrial gray color blends into most exterior surfaces. Standard tapes fail in marine or freeze-thaw environments; S640 is built to last where others give up.
